This sounds like a wild ride! I was nervous going 36 mph, I can’t imagine 40+!!! Today, I start my RAGBRAI training! This will be my second year to ride my bike across the state of Iowa… I can’t wait!!! You should join me some time. Iowa is not the flat state everyone thinks it is.

Great post – love the part about looking like Arnold. Any male that uses that excuse should get slapped (or at least severely reprimanded). If you don’t want to get big, strong, and look like one of the best bodybuilders ever to walk the face of the Earth, weight training probably isn’t for you. Try a step class.

My husband Jimmy and I are/were in the same boat as you and Kristine! As I read your blog, I kept thinking one of us most have wrote this as it is the exact same situation we went through…(even the part about contemplating going to Italy!!!) I always felt so alone and that noone would really understand what our experience was like! lol

After 21 years of marriage, we have three beautiful daughters (all HIV-) — our daughters are 9 and twins that are almost 4. (Our older daughter was a twin as well but we lost her sister at 6 months old due to complications of Group B step meningitis — we went to such great pains to prevent the HIV and yet sometimes life throws you curves that you just couldn’t predict nor prevent).

Awesome post. I wanted to go this year and even registered, but we had to be conservative with money this month as we both transitioned to new jobs. I am very grateful for all of you who participated and I’m glad you’ll be there next year. It’s great to hear about what you did while there. Thanks again for sharing.

Great to see you in action again! Thanks for the breakdown of the agenda items. I hope to make it up to D.C. to do this one of these days. I’ve visited Austin for some local advocacy work, but no trips to the hill as of yet.

What a refreshing story. I grew up right outside of DC and know first hand how desperate the homeless population is. I give whenever and however I can. I always feel so good after doing so and know I am doing Gods work.
